Sodexo Healthcare is seeking a Director, Commercial Finance & Pricing
Reporting to the Director II, Commercial Finance & Pricing, this position is responsible for the financial aspects of the sales bid proposal process across US Hospitals. In this position, you will collaborate with members from Sales Executives, Costing & Solution Architects, Field Finance and Operations to provide strategic thought and leadership, deal structuring, pricing recommendations, design robust proformas, approval memos and contract language to drive new business, cross sales, renewals, retentions, and contract amendments on small to mid-size deals.
Location: Virtual/Remote role and can be based anywhere in North America, however prefer someone located in the Pacific or Mountain time zone.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
Lead commercial finance activities including, but not limited to, financial proforma, deal structure, develop profitable pricing levers on small to mid-size hospital proposals to ensure we provide winning and mutually beneficial bid proposals for Client and Sodexo.
Collaborate effectively with Sales Executives, Operations, Field Finance and Solutions Architects developing a proposal with speed, accuracy and delivering on Client and Sodexo expectations.
Works closely to understand the solution architect design to optimize all cost levers. Compare and validate using our historical, standards and benchmarks.
Develop the financial models in the tools used in the segment (HPM, Group Model, etc.) and ensure accuracy of data/outputs from the respective financial models.
Owns the delivery of high-quality and accurate assumptions and documentation on the commercial model, deal structure, pro forma, and contractual terms as well as the development of client financial schedules to ensure opportunities are approved and presented to client timely and accurately.
Provides guidance to ensure legal contracts reflect financial, key terms and conditions align with deal approval.
Collaborates with Sales Executive to create a well-documented bid proposal approval memo, outlining commercial components and financial proforma to seek leadership approvals aligned with Sodexo’s Delegation of Authority levels.
Communicate clear, concise, and accurate insights both verbally and written to leaders and peers.
Ensures compliance with internal and external policies, controls, process & regulation.
Education, Experience, Technical Skillset:
BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics or related discipline and 8+ years of applicable experience.
Strong Commercial Mindset – Understands the client’s needs and perspectives, and strategically balances them with Sodexo’s to deliver value for all. Is curious, asks questions, stays flexible, serving others, and delivers on commitments.
Uses business acumen, functional expertise, and organizational resources to responsibly challenge the “status quo” to deliver creative and feasible solutions.
Demonstrates strategic insights through financial deal engineering and contractual expertise.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to analyze and interpret contractual, financial, technical, operational data and legal contract language.
Ability to efficiently manage projects by juggling multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities and handling a high amount of stress related to the highly complex business environment.
Experience in Contract Food, Environmental Services, Facilities Management, or a working knowledge of Hospital vendor/supply management is strongly preferred.
Tenacity to operate and deliver within a changing business environment and demonstrate resilience at times of high pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced Microsoft skills – especially in Excel. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to create, utilize, support, and explain complex spreadsheet models.
Can work independently and manage work resourcefully and often with ambiguity and adaptability.
Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of ESSBASE, System Application Products (SAP – SDX Accounting System), Electronic Data Warehouse (EDW) / Business Intelligence (BI) is a plus.
